Sophie works across the street at a coffee shop, which is having a slow day. She peers out the window and watches these men. She senses something strange and becomes suspicious when one man looks her way and she sees his eyes glow. After he enters the bookshop, Sophie smells sulfur. When Perry Fleming, the wife of Josh’s boss, enters the shop, Sophie mentions the unusual smell and she watches the fear and recognition in the woman’s eyes. Soon, both of them run across the street to discover the shop in ruins and that they’ve interrupted a magical battle.

Afterwards, Dr. Dee leaves the store with both Perry and the majority of the Book of Abraham the Mage. However, the crucial part of the book lies in Josh’s hands. The twins look to Nick, Josh’s boss, for an explanation and discover he isn’t exactly who he’s claiming to be. He is in fact not Nick Fleming, but the famous alchemyst Nicolas Flamel, whose tomb from centuries earlier lies empty.
