Call Ahead Pickup Instructions
Need a book, audiobook, or video but you are short on time? With our on-site services expanding Otis Library is very excited to offer Call Ahead Pickup! We have changed our popular outside pickup to indoors but kept the same quick, easy process you need in your busy life.
How does Call Ahead Pickup work?
First, go to our online catalog to place items on hold or call us at (860) 889-2365 and press 0 for assistance.
If you placed holds yourself using the online catalog and want to schedule your holds as a Call Ahead Pickup, please call (860) 889-2365 and press 0 to speak with a staff member who will coordinate the details of your pickup.
Hours for Call Ahead Pickup: Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM, Tuesdays & Fridays, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM and Thursdays & Saturdays 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM.
Please observe the following guidelines:
Please observe the three-item limit by selecting only three items per author, subject, or series.
Your items will be waiting for you at the front desk. They will be checked out and stored in plastic bags with your name printed on the outside.
Adult cardholders can designate up to 3 other adult cardholders to pick up reserved materials for them by completing a “Holds Pickup” form. This authorization is specifically noted in the cardholder’s account.
If you have materials to return, you may place them in the book drops located in the atrium, the building exterior, or around town.
