Passport to Connecticut Libraries

Passport to Connecticut Libraries

A blue passport book is printed with the logo for CT Library Association, the street logo for Public Library, and the word Passport.

Over 15 million items, over 150 participating libraries, 1 library card!

Your library card opens the world to you through physical books, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs – as well as downloadable or streaming version of the same products. Now let your library card open the doors of Connecticut libraries by participating in the Passport to Connecticut Libraries Program!

To celebrate National Library Week during April, the Passport to Connecticut Libraries Program invites you to visit all of the participating libraries.  Each library has its own architecture, vibe, and collection to explore and browse!  The program is open to adults and children, and the hope is that it encourages residents to explore the amazing diversity of our public libraries.

To begin, stop by Otis Library to pick up your Passport.  We will stamp it and give you a useful gift to get you started.  Then, take your Passport along as you visit other participating libraries.  At each visit, you must show your library card, then the library will stamp your passport and may give you another small gift.

If you visit at least 5 participating libraries and return your passport to a participating library by May 10, 2024 you will be entered into a statewide drawing for a chance to win a $200 Visa gift card for adults (18 and up) and a $200 Visa gift card for children (under 18).  Four winners will be selected:  1 adult and 1 child from a random drawing from all who visited at least 5 libraries, and the 1 adult and 1 child who visited the most libraries.

The program takes place for the entire month of April.  You must return your completed passport by May 10.

How it Works:

  • Visit Otis Library to pick up your Passport between April 1 and April 30, 2024.
  • Show us your library card and we will stamp the Passport to get you started (You will also receive an exclusive Otis Library sensory sticker).
  • Visit at least five (5) participating libraries and return your passport by May 10, to be entered into one state-wide drawing for a chance to win a $200 Visa gift card for adults (18 and up) and a $200 Visa gift card for children (under 18).
  • Visits must occur between April 1 and April 30. This is a statewide contest where four winners will be selected: one adult and one child from a random drawing from all who visited at least five libraries, and one adult and one child from a random drawing from all who visited the most libraries.
  • Passports must be turned in to be entered into the prize drawing. If you’d like to keep your passport, you’re welcome to submit a copy.
